Education & Information Activities
Through the use of a standardized common language, with validated definitions, nomenclature and classifications, the EDMUS system contributes to the teaching and diffusion of a consensual, optimal and exhaustive description of the disease.
Moreover, since its inception, the EDMUS project has organized regular concertation meetings between members of the EDMUS network, as well as information meetings:
- At the international level, every year in September or October, on the occasion of the ECTRIMS congress (European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis), the largest and most important annual international meeting dedicated to multiple sclerosis, with some 5,000 participants, the EDMUS User Group is invited to meet, and an EDMUS booth is set up in the exhibition hall.
- Every year in April or May, on the occasion of the JNLF congress of French-speaking neurologists (Journées de Neurologie de Langue Française), with some 2,200 participants, EDMUS users can also meet at the EDMUS booth which is present in the exhibition hall.
- At the national level, every year in March an ACADEDMUS day is organized. This meeting, open to all EDMUS users, working in a hospital or in town, members of a network or not, allows the presentation by the various participating teams of their most recent works, performed with the use of the EDMUS system. Current information is presented on the French MS Observatory. This meeting also facilitates the launch of national collaborative studies, based on the French EDMUS network.
- At the regional level, every autumn, an information meeting on Multiple Sclerosis is organized in Lyon for patients of the Rhône-Alpes region and their families. The attendance is usually over 600.
